SB, ooh, I'm struggling here.

Nine times out of ten, the answer is either "Land Value Tax" or "Citizen's Dividend" or both, but I don't see how these would help dampen a potential land price bubble fuelled by hot money from abroad without impoverishing yer average Swiss... oh, hang on...

I know people are saying "well, you pay those prices at a football ground/pop concert", but the difference is that you are only in those for a few hours, so if you're organised, you work out how to get food into the kids by either having a picnic before you go in or by finding the nearest Pizza Hut. I rarely have to buy overpriced drinks and snacks at football grounds, Legoland or the cinema because I make sure that they're not hungry when they're in those places.

With the Olympics, if you're going into a 10am session of athletics, you won't finish until 2pm. You're going to have to buy food for the kids.

As someone who tried to get tickets to take the kids to the decathlon, in hindsight, I'm very glad I didn't get any.
