Lola said...: You can run old cars on a shoestring and they will do many miles. I run a fleet of such cars all bought for prices in the range £0 (hand me down) to £300. It may cost you an occassional big bill, but you can take a view and throw it away and buy another one or fix it. Whatever it will be less than the depreciation on a new(er) one. Cars nowadays will do 200,000 miles without a major component change, if you look after them.
