It seems that Team GB excels in cycling, rowing and sailing. Maybe we should introduce a pedalo event at London 2013; the gold medal's as good as in the bag!

It's a good idea but I can't help but feel that the competitors would be chased away by a large mob waving placards stating "No Pedalophiles" and "Pedalos Go Home".
And Mark Cavendish yet to bike it!
Has anyone else noticed we are only doing well in events that are too expensive for the poorer nations to compete in? Someone in the Sports Council has obviously come up with the brainwave that if we throw money at buying swanky yachts, bikes, rowing boats etc we may pick up enough golds to keep all the bureaucrats in salaries/pensions for a good while to come. We haven't won many events where it's purely down to talent and hard work. Even swimming cuts out the poorer nations (plus non-Europeans don't seem to excel at swimming the way they do at track events).
