I was asked to put my name forward for a very senior job there and the person who wanted me to go was surprised when I said no on moral grounds!

Mind you I suppose I have double standards as I have worked in China and a number of other areas which aren't exactly democratic.

I'm no China expert, but at least they are not rampant misogynists, and, AFAIAA, we don't sell them weapons. Plus you're allowed to drink over there.
